Dylan O’ Connor

Age: 13 Address: Freemount, Charleville, Co-Cork Dylan starting riding as soon as he could walk. He won his first show at 4 on my 12”2 pony Princess. He always loved racing as my dad is a jockey and I used always go. He always loved pony racing my family and would go most Sundays to support Darragh (O’ Keeffe). He started doing Donkey Derby’s at pony racing when he was around 5, and then when Darragh won on Templehill Tamara he used ride her in the Tiny Tots races. He had my first winner pony racing on templehill tamara in 2018 in courtmac sherry when he was 9 years old. In 2019 he was southern pony champion. He rode 36 winners last year, and was crowned regional champion which was an unbelievable feeling. When pony racing finishes he love to go hunting and showjumping it keeps him fit, when not in school I regularly ride out for his dad. He has ridden over 80 winners since he started pony racing. In the future he will probably be riding on the flat although he loves National hunt.

He rode in my 1st proper pony race on my pony nippy (the sinful man) at dingle and finished 2nd, just beat by Sam Ewing.
